La cafetière à moka portant la référence « 558 » fait désormais partie des classiques méconnus de la manufacture de céramique d’Hedwig Bollhagen. Cette cafetière au design intemporel et sobre a marqué le design quotidien de l'ancienne RDA – et est aujourd'hui redécouverte par les amateurs de design. Elle se caractérise par la forme cylindrique aux lignes droites de son corps, son long bec verseur élégamment incurvé et anti-gouttes, ainsi que sa poignée sans fioritures. La hauteur totale, couvercle et poignée en forme de champignon compris, est de 20 centimètres. Avec une contenance de 0,7 litre, cette cafetière à moka n’est ni trop petite ni trop grande. La grande fonctionnalité de cette cafetière à moka moderniste et multifonctionnelle, alliée à un savoir-faire artisanal de très haut niveau, correspond à la maxime d’Hedwig Bollhagen. « Ce qui est beau, c’est ce qui fonctionne », telle était sa devise.
